Arequipa was a beautiful city. The Police who lifeguard here in the summer months were great. The beaches near Arequipa churn up gnarly conditions all the time, resulting in several drownings each year. In this album you can see pictures of the guards watching our home-made spanish-language instructional DVD. Prior to this, the only resources on hand were old red cross videos made for pool lifeguarding, in ENGLISH. In addition to the DVDs, we also brought a dozen spanish translations of the USLA manual to leave with Sr. Hermosa (Thank you, Brian Miller)
